9 Signs That Point To A Vision Problem

Now that school has started, it’s important to pay attention to their progress and make sure they have everything they need to succeed. Here are a few signs that might tell you they have a vision problem:

  • Consistently sitting too close to the TV or holding a book too close
  • Squinting
  • Tilting the head to see better
  • Frequently rubbing eyes, even when not sleepy
  • Shielding eyes or other signs of sensitivity to light
  • Excessive tearing and watery eyes
  • Closing one eye to read, watch TV or see better
  • Avoiding activities that require near vision, such as coloring or reading, or distance vision, such as playing ball or tag
  • Complaining of headaches or tired eyes

To know for certain if your child is struggling in school due to a vision problem, make sure your child has had a comprehensive eye exam within the past year. Use our new scheduling software to make an appointment.
