Dr. Christensen, O.D., F.C.O.V.D., Diplomate American Board of Optometry
Dr. Christensen is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry. She remained at the College as Clinic Faculty, teaching optometric students to perform eye examinations and vision therapy. Dr. Christensen also established a private practice in Rancho Santa Fe in 1983, providing full scope optometric care with an emphasis in vision therapy. She is a certified fellow in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the accrediting institution for optometrists who do vision therapy.
Dr. Christensen is also a member of several associations, including the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association.
Dr. Christensen is married to Rand Christensen. They have two children, Emily and Eric. Emily graduated from Cal Ply, SLO in 2009 and returned to the practice full time in 2013. Eric graduated Basic Training in the US Air Force in early 2016 making the honor roll and will be stationed at Buckley AFB in Denver, CO for his first position. The family enjoys traveling, cooking together and reading.

Dr. Weiss, O.D., F.C.O.V.D., Diplomate American Board of Optometry
Dr. Lisa M. Weiss graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry and then completed a residency in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the SUNY State College of Optometry in New York City. Dr. Weiss enjoys taking care of her patients with all of their eyecare needs including glasses, contact lenses, computer vision syndrome, myopia prevention, vision therapy, eye diseases, and laser co-management. She recommends that all patients beginning at 2 months of age receive routine eye and vision care every year.
Dr. Weiss obtained her fellowship in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and is proud to have reached this personal and professional goal in improving her treatment and care of vision therapy patients. She is also glaucoma certified which means better care for our patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Weiss spends time with her husband Justin and daughter Myla. Hobbies include stained glass, tap dancing and knitting.

Ken Eng, A.B.O.C.
Ken is an American Board Certified Optician. He graduated from California State University at Northridge with a Masters in Leisure Studies and Public Administration. He has been with our practice since 2005 and in the optometric field since 1980. He enjoys playing competitive handball and is a 5-time national master champion and nationally ranked in his age bracket.

Christine Chavez, A.B.O.C.
Christine is an American Board Certified Optician. She’s worked over 26 years in the optical field both in California and Texas. She has experience in all areas of the profession including frame styling, back office technician and coordinating patient care. She has 4 children and 4 grandchildren and enjoys event planning and home decorating.

Emily Christensen, B.S., C.O.V.T.
Emily received a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She has worked at the practice throughout high school and college and has now come back full time as the vision therapist. She became a certified vision therapist in 2015. She loves working one on one with patients of all ages. When she’s not at the office she can be found working on her other passion, graphic design.

Christina Causland, B.S., M.S.
A Philadelphia native, Christina relocated to the San Diego area in 2015. Christina was a dual major in Secondary Education and Earth Science, earning a Bachelor’s degree in 2009 from La Salle University. While working as a Middle School science teacher, Christina earned her Master of Science from Wilkes University. Applying her background in education and science, Christina is part of our Vision Therapy team as well as a dynamic office team member. In her free time, Christina enjoys hiking, cooking, volunteering, traveling and continuing to discover the San Diego area!

Zoey Christensen, Therapy Dog
Zoey was adopted at the age of 2 from a rescue organization in 2011 by Dr. Christensen and her husband. She is a very calm and even tempered pup. She joined our office to provide support and comfort to both the staff and patients. If you, for any reason, are uncomfortable around dogs, just let one of her co-workers know and we will keep her out of your way during your visit.
